this is my blog to show you, where and how I live in my two years here in Tokyo. Actually I am already quite late with my blog as I started living here in March 2007. Tokyo is a very interesting city, whether you would say it’s a beautiful city or not is dependent on your taste I personally love Tokyo by night and the new skyscrapers most. But have a look - probably you like it too:
Apart of the cities appearance the people are of course the second factor that determines the impression of Tokyo. First of all wherever you go, there is plenty of them. By the time I got used to it, and sometimes when I don’t have it now I even miss it, can you imagine.
There is one stereotype I would state as not 100% untrue. People here love to eat, and do it also a lot, but when they eat, they always concentrate on the food and appreciate it. Probably that’s why they can eat fetty meat and still stay so slim (they would never be able to sell this kind of meat at home).
What else to give a small overview: Yea right, you could be interested in holidays. Many holidays here are related to nature and to the season. So in springtime you have the ever so famous “o hanami” whatching cherry blossoms. In summer the huge fireworks “o hanabi” are really worth seeing. They usually last 1 – 1,5 hours and what you can see there in the sky is really incredible. In autumn you can appreciate the leave change. And in winter just go to Nagoya and ski in great powder snow.
